We’ve been having meetings
We have a logo on the way and a fundraising programme for 2018 starting on 6 June as part of the Stroud Green Festival. Their first event, “Celebrating Time: Music from down the centuries” will be a fundraiser for the TRA. What a lovely way to spend a summer’s evening. We’ve had our first fundraising event
The super pupils at Belmont Junior School held a bake sale (yum) for the Tottenham Refugee Alliance raising a whopping £208! I understand the cakes flew off the tables – well done and THANK YOU to all staff and pupils who got involved and kicked off our fundraising for us. A particular thank you to Katherine Duncan for organising.
We’ve been inspired
Our colleagues at the Muswell Hill Methodist Church Welcomes Syrian Families welcomed two Syrian families at the end of March. The children have started school already and a coffee morning has taken place with other Syrian families resettled in the area through the Syrian Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme. Congratulations to all.

We’ve endured the rain in Spain…
which falls largely on the Northern Camino de Santiago, according to one of our core troopers, Fr David Walter. Fr David will be walking the pilgrimage route for several weeks raising funds for the TRA. It’s a beautiful but not an easy walk, and by all accounts rather wet. Thank you David and the very best of luck!
We’ve been setting up our Donating sites
Admin is not the most glamorous job but someone has to do it. Thanks to the perseverence of our volunteers, our Just Giving site will be going live very soon.
Volunteer and spread the word
As ever, we need volunteers to help us (now and in the near future) with fundraising events. We’ll need more volunteers in a few months to help us to settle the family when they arrive and if you are a landlord who would like to help we definitely want to hear from you! 🙂
