We are delighted that the past few weeks have seen some local people come forward to volunteer with us in the Tottenham Refugee Alliance. We are grateful and excited to welcome on board volunteers who have offered skills in teaching English, befriending and supporting in helping our family register with a GP and introducing them to the National Health Service and how it works.
We could do with having people who can offer many and varied skills like community outreach work, publicity, fundraising, sourcing places in Haringey where we can advertise our work…the list goes on.
BUT ….. don’t be put off if you feel you can’t offer specialist skills! We need people with enthusiasm, energy and most importantly A GREAT BIG HEART to welcome our refugee family when they arrive. When we get our housing for them we’ll need volunteers to clean, paint and decorate it and to make their home safe, secure and welcoming.
